Midway District / Liberty Station Real Estate

Explore Midway District Real Estate

The Midway area (encompassing Liberty Station), also called the North Bay area, is a neighborhood of San Diego. It is located at the northern(mainland) end of the Point Loma peninsula, northwest of Downtown San Diego and just west of Old Town. In 2016, the San Diego Reader revealed that the industrial district behind the Sports Arena in the Midway District has grown into a coffee-roasting hub with local favorites roasting coffee beans, brewing coffee beer (yes, you read that correctly), onsitecafé, and serving cold brew.

Liberty Station is a mixed-use development within the Point Loma community of San Diego on the site of the former Naval Training Center SanDiego. Known for the Liberty Public Market, an event venue offering the best of what the region has to offer by showcasing a rustic environment with prepared foods, beer, wine, specialty cocktails, produce, fish, desserts and pastries, pasta, arts and crafts, a test kitchen, and educational driven events.

Take evenings trolls along its waterfront boat channel off of San Diego Bay. Less than a five minute drive, or even a 15 minute bike ride, residents of Liberty Station can easily get to Ocean Beach and enjoy the sand and surf, or head the other direction along Harbor Drive and visit either Shelter Island, or head downtown to enjoy the scene.

The residential district of Liberty Station has two main sections, one section for military housing and the other residential community is open to all. The military housing area is not properly part of the Liberty Station development and is still owned by the U.S. Government. The civilian residential community includes townhomes, rowhomes, and single family homes. In 2007 it was named by Money magazine as one of the best places to retire in San Diego. However, people of all ages live in the community, from young families to retirees.
