Poway Real Estate

Explore Poway Real Estate

Originally an unincorporated community in San Diego County, Poway officially became a city in December 1980. Located along the east side of Interstate 15, generally between Scripps Ranch to the south and Rancho Bernardo to the north, Poway’s rural roots gave rise to its slogan “The City in the Country.” Considered an upper middle class city, the vast majority of homes (over 80%) in Poway are single-family, detached residences, although several condominium complexes do exist. True to their rural history, Poway offers areas many areas zoned for horses. Residential development ranges higher density to rural, and housing from the relatively affordable to multi-million dollar homes can be found.

In the heart of old Poway is located Old Poway Park which offers weekend train rides, a farmers’ market, old-fashioned shops, and a museum. The Poway business park comprises approximately 700 acres. Lake Poway, originally constructed to provide the farmers with a source of water, is now a popular fishing lake, passive park and recreation facility.
